The Knox Remote Power Box enables emergency responders to rapidly power down a building before
entering. Designed to remotely operate the building’s shunt switch, the Knox Remote Power Box supports
electrical power disconnect for not only buildings, but also equipment and systems such as generators,
power distribution, wind, solar power and telecommunications systems.

3. Add Tamper Switch

Although our box is UL 1037 Listed and built Knox Rugged, we strongly suggest to all our property owners to invest in the Knox Tamper Alert System. A minimal investment, that will protect your big investment, your property. In the event that your box is opened or removed from the wall, Knox Tamper Alert System will notify you, and may prevent potential vandalism or unwanted entry.

 

ORDERING SPECIFICATIONS

To insure procurement and delivery of the Knox Remote Power Box, it is suggested that following specification paragraph is used:

Knox Remote Power Box surface/recessed mount, with/without UL Listed Tamper Alert. 1/4" plate steel housing, 5/8" thick steel door with silicone interior gasket seal. Lock has 1/8" dust cover with tamper seal mounting capability. Vault has anti-theft re-locking mechanism with drill resistant hard-plate lock protector.

Surface mount: 7" H x 7" W x 7 1/4" D
Recessed mount flange: 9 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W
 

Lock: UL Listed. Double-action rotating tumblers and hardened steel pins accessed by a biased cut key.

Finish: Knox-Coat® proprietary finishing process, Finish Color: Red

What is a Tamper Switch

The Knox Tamper Alert is installed inside the Knox Remote Power Box and connects to the alarm on your building. If anyone tampers with the box, the alarm will be activated.

What is Dual Lock For?

Dual locks allow shared agency access so first responders can immediately gain access during emergencies. For example, fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency medical services may share access to properties in their local jurisdictions.

Who Installs the Power Shut Down Box?

The Knox Remote Power Box must be installed by a qualified and licensed electrician following the guidelines of the shunt trip system to which it is connected.
